The central site for the development, production and logistics of pharmaceuticals and health products is mibe GmbH Arzneimittel, based in Brehna near Leipzig. With this modern pharmaceutical production, the company makes a clear commitment to Germany as a business location, where approx. 500 employees from the region are employed.
Since 2003, production areas for the manufacture of almost all drugs and dosage forms have been newly established. On an area of 38,000 sqm, an ultra-modern location with the latest equipment is operated. The special feature and also the uniqueness of the location lies in its diversity. Here, sterile pharmaceuticals such as ampoules and freeze-drying products, tablets, coated tablets, capsules, ointments, solutions, drops and sprays can be produced under one roof. This enables us to manufacture approx. 90% of all Dermapharm products in-house and market them as "made in Germany".
A particular strength lies in the development of new drugs. More than 60 highly qualified employees are involved in the development and approval of new products. Due to its own development, the company has a very high level of competence in the manufacture and testing of pharmaceuticals and other health products. Already on the market preparations are constantly developed further by the scientific competence and thus continuously adapted to the increase in knowledge and to new legal requirements.
The high quality standard of the products manufactured in Brehna is permanently ensured by the quality assurance and quality control departments. Quality assurance begins with the selection and control of suppliers and also includes the expert support of our customers in the distribution of our pharmaceuticals. State-of-the-art laboratories for chemical and microbiological quality control support these processes.
Further production sites have been integrated into the group through company acquisitions. These include Anton Hübner GmbH & Co. KG in Ehrenkirchen near Freiburg, Trommsdorff GmbH & Co. KG in Alsdorf near Aachen, Biokirch GmbH in Seevetal near Hamburg, Bio-Diät GmbH in Berlin and Melasan GmbH in Eugendorf near Salzburg. The optimal use of the special manufacturing know-how, which is available at the different locations of the group, enables a very high diversification of the products at competitive manufacturing costs.
